The Ease Of Installing Satellite Television Over Traditional Cable

When looking for television service providers, you typically have to look at either cable or satellite services. Both services usually send out an installation technician, however it is possible to install satellite equipment yourself. This is not the case for cable, as most cable installation services require the technician to activate the equipment by contacting the service provider directly. With satellite equipment, you just need to hook the satellite receiver up to the satellite dish, then plug the hardware up into the television and you are good to go.

To state, you need to locate the cable running into your house from the satellite dish.Want more? Once you find the cable, plug it in directly into the “In” port of the satellite receiver. This port is on the rear of the receiver and is a single, circular device. Be careful when connecting the cable as there is a single metal pin in the middle. If you push the pin over to either side, the cable is not going to connect to the port, or the signal quality is not as clear.

If you using an HD satellite receiver, attach an HDMI cable into the “HDMI connection on the receiver, and plug the other end of the cable into one of the HDMI connections on the HD television system. If you are using a standard definition connection, attach the RCA audio/video cables into the red, white and yellow “Out” ports on the receiver, then attach the free end of the three cables into the red white and yellow ports on the TV.

Power on the two devices, then choose either “HDMI” or “Video” to view the satellite programming.
